In our darkest times, we all look for hope somewhere. Some of us turn to family, trusted loved ones, professionals, and often our faith. Some of us pray for answers when we're facing a hard choice. We believe that we will feel in our hearts what the right thing to do is.

One woman in particular, a mother, 45, was faced with the difficult choice of moving from Northern Ireland to England. Just as she was debating what she should do, she claims a "figure of Jesus Christ in the pith of clementine" appeared to her with the answer.

Jamie Thomas, 45, was going back and forth trying to figure out whether she should go through with the big move from Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Catterick, North Yorkshire.

She was moving for a man with whom she had been in a long-distance relationship. She was hoping the move would finally allow them to start their life together. She even had a job lined up to begin that same week. All she needed was a sign to reassure her that this was the right decision.

The mother-of-five was on her lunch break, peeling a clementine as a snack, just like she would on any given day.

However, she noticed something odd on this specific clementine. As she peeled open the fruit, she noticed the outline of a "little man." When she took a closer look, she saw that the man seemed to be hanging from a cross, in the citrus. Could this be the sign she was looking for all along?

Jamie grew up in a religious environment. She explains: "I was brought up in Northern Ireland and am in the Church of Ireland and I was religious growing up." To her, it didn't seem strange that God would find a way to reach out to her when she had been praying for him.

Jamie was still stunned nonetheless when Jesus seemingly appeared to her through a freshly peeled fruit. She remembers wanting to share her "sweet" findings with her friends on Snapchat. But in all seriousness, Jamie said the fruit find had helped her feel reassured in her decision despite not being as religious as she once was.

"To be honest the older I got, I was starting to get a bit more religious again. I don't go to church or anything but I believe in God," she adds.

We all are willing to go to great lengths in the name of love. Jamie originally met her 48-year-old husband Daniel when she was a teenager. However, their love story took a long time. They were best friends first and didn't actually start dating until 2014.

Now as older adults who had lived their own separate lives, Jamie worried that maybe they weren't meant to be after all. She admitted that she had "doubts ran through her mind" until the clementine removed all seeds of doubt and reassured her.

Once Jamie got the reassurance she was looking for with her "sweet" discovery of the Jesus shape during a "crazy" time, she decided to "bite the bullet" and move to be with him.

At the time of the discovery of the Jesus figure, Jamie remembers: "The two of us [a colleague] just laughed about it because we were like 'that's definitely a sign that I was doing the right thing,'" she added.

As it turns out moving really was the right choice for Jamie. Whether this was divine intervention or Jamie projecting what she really wanted, it was a sign designed for her to push her in the right direction.

Face pareidolia is the phenomenon of seeing faces in inanimate objects. It's actually quite common. The brain process of seeing faces is compared by experts to the same one we use to recognize real human faces.

Pareidolia was once thought to be a symptom of psychosis, but it's now seen as a normal and universal human tendency. However, it's possible that some people are more inclined to experience it than others.

A 2012 study revealed that people who are more religious or believe in the supernatural are more likely to experience pareidolia. Another 2016 study also says that women also seem to be more prone to it because of their better ability to recognize emotions through deciphering facial expressions.
